While bicycling through the village of DeRijp in The Netherlands, I noticed a lovely patio outside of a little cafe. We stopped for an al fresco lunch and I photographed the moment. Revisiting that moment this winter by creating a painting of our table and the reflections of our group dining seemed to be the perfect way to take a vacation at a time when international travel was prohibited. We needed to restrict our travels in 2020, but we never need to restrict our creative spirit.
